As reported by AFROTECH earlier this year, Jaqui Rice Gold, Co-Founder of G.O.A.T. Fuel, spoke with AFROTECH and expressed the energy drink company's aspirations to expand its reach to new levels. Remaining true to this commitment, G.O.A.T. Fuel, co-founded by her father, NFL Hall of Famer Jerry Rice, and her husband, Trevion Gold, is now making waves in the WNBA.

In a press release shared with AFROTECH, the brand has announced its collaboration with the Chicago Sky, marking its designation as the WNBA team’s inaugural official energy drink partner. This alliance follows the company's recent appointment as the energy drink of choice for the Los Angeles Lakers.

Expressing her excitement, Rice Gold stated, "Working with the Chicago Sky is a dream for the G.O.A.T. Fuel brand. As a former basketball player, I have always admired the excellence, hard work, and determination of those who made it to the WNBA. Additionally, as a female CEO, I am proud to join forces with the Chicago Sky, a natural alignment as we share the same values."

Rice further added, "Becoming the official energy drink of the Chicago Sky represents a significant milestone in the G.O.A.T. Fuel journey. Chicago has a rich sports history and has been home to some of the greatest athletes of all time. Now, with the heightened enthusiasm surrounding the WNBA, it's the perfect opportunity to partner with the Sky."

As the official energy drink of the team, G.O.A.T. Fuel is poised to participate in on-court and fan activations, including sweepstakes, giveaways, and product samplings, as outlined in the press release.

Alex Teodosi, Vice President of Corporate Partnerships for the Chicago Sky, expressed the team's enthusiasm, stating, "Partnering with G.O.A.T. Fuel, a brand that celebrates athletic performance and excellence, is important to us. We are proud to introduce a great product with unique performance benefits to Chicago Sky players and fans."

As previously covered by AFROTECH, in addition to containing vitamins, electrolytes, BCAs, no sugar, and natural caffeine through green tea, G.O.A.T. Fuel incorporates adaptogens like cordyceps mushrooms into its high-performance, premium sports energy drinks. These products are available for purchase at Walmart, Target, and Publix.
